Ivy's Dance Recital

Ivy's been doing the Preschool Ballet Class at Center Stage Dance Studio in Prior Lake this spring. She'd been asking for lessons for a long time, so we got her in. I was not excited about it, but she was. The last month or so has been torture--one day, she flat out refused to go--came down in her jammies instead of her dance outfit. So, she's skipped the last few weeks. But we did make her go to the last class and the recital.

When I asked her if she wants to do dance class again in First Grade, she has repeatedly yelled, "NO WAY!!"

No school; no TV

I feel like the kids have been watching a TON of television lately. And they want to play games on the phone/iPad if the TV isn't on.

So Wednesday morning (Ivy's last day of school), I made an impromptu rule: "No school--No TV."

I expected it to last a day or two. Granted, it's only been 5 days, but they haven't begged--they haven't even asked to watch TV.

Jamey did yell at me while we were at the zoo: "MOM!! You're being so mean to us about the TV!" But other than that, nothing out of any of them.

We'll see how long it lasts. Ivy is so far totally on-board and Jamey follows her anywhere :) Livy on the other hand is having Super Why withdrawals.
