Family Bike Ride

Ivy has been asking to go for a bike ride with Daddy all week, so this afternoon (after his 56 mile ride--race preview for the Liberty Half), we took the kids to Cleary Lake and rode around the lake. It's about 3.5 miles, and they did great! We did stop about 37 times to "take a rest" because Ivy's "knees hurt" or she wanted to "wait up for Jamey." At the risk of sounding super corny, it was a little dream come true--out biking with our kids. I loved it!
Getting the bikes on the van in his racing gear.

Daddy! That's not the right way!

Let's get going!

Riding in style--without a helmet, because we can't find one small enough to fit.

As we were getting on the trail, a Scott County Sheriff's car pulled up, and I thought I was going to get a "talking to" about not having a helmet for Livy. Instead, Ivy & Jamey got "I Got Caught" certificates for wearing their helmets. Free ice cream at Dairy Queen!! That was a fun surprise!

Please notice that he mounts his bike from the back, using his training wheel as a step.

This is a "No Drop" group!

Whew! We are tired!

Jamey's pedal fell off.
